Welcome

Welcome to Short Circuit Audio.

I have started building pedals in 2001 (I think…), and while it always remained an hobby for me, I have accumulated my fair share of experience in designing, troubleshooting and modding guitar pedals.

Some of you might have also stumbled on my Soldano SLO 100 diaries from the years when I have ventured in tube amplifiers, which is now published on my personal blog.

Due to the added (forced?) time at home in the middle of the pandemic, I have started to explore microcontrollers, and what it was possible with it. In the space of a few months I have designed a digital LFO and a programmable loop switcher on the AVR platform, and started to occasionally sell my PCB to fellow DIY-er wanting to build my projects. Later on I ventured on other projects, like a tap tempo controller for the PT2399 and a controller for a step sequencer.

At that stage I decided it was time to publish my website dedicated to guitar pedal designs, publish content (articles, tutorials and so on) and some of my designs. I am not interested in routing PCB for well-known pedals, as it would be an unnecessary repetition of the work done by others across the globe. But I thought there is some space for unusal bespoke designs in the market, and I am aiming to showcase them in this space.

I have plenty of ideas, and probably not enough time, but I’ll try my best to keep the flow going.
